ABOUT CAROLINA PAVING IN HICKORY, NC
Carolina Paving of Hickory, Inc. began in 1964 under the name Carolina Landscaping. Eddie L. Huffman started Carolina Landscaping with one partner, one truck and one tractor. The sole purpose of the business at that time was to landscape residential lawns. The company did not begin its paving operations until 1972.
Carolina Landscaping was incorporated in 1977, and was renamed Carolina Landscaping and Paving Company, Inc. Under the new name, the company relocated to our present location, 3203 Highland Avenue, NE, Hickory in 1978. In 1985, E. Dane Huffman, son of the owner and founder Eddie L. Huffman, became Vice President and remains so to this day.
During the year of 1986, Carolina's asphalt plant was built. With this addition, it became possible for Carolina Landscaping and Paving Company, Inc. to produce and sell asphalt. On July 10, 1991, our founder Eddie L. Huffman passed away and his wife Marie H. Huffman stepped in as president in his absence.

In March of 1998, the Company became known as Carolina Paving of Hickory, Inc., making the departure from landscaping lawns official. In 2014, the Company celebrated our 50th anniversary of business. The Company is currently serving the Unifour area, as well as surrounding areas.
